Privacy Policy
We collect the business contact details we need to quote, supply and support your orders, and nothing more.
01Who we are
Pacificlink Minerals Pty. Ltd. (ABN 47 126 430 155) supplies industrial minerals to businesses in Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
02What we collect
We deal with businesses, so the personal information we hold is mostly business contact detail. We collect it when you email or phone us, send an enquiry through this website, request a quote, or place an order.
- Your name, job title and employer
- Email address, phone number and business address
- Delivery and invoicing details for orders
- The content of your enquiry, such as your application and specification
- Records of our correspondence and transactions with you
We do not seek sensitive information, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
03This website, cookies and analytics
When you submit the enquiry form, the details you enter are sent to our sales team by email through our own mail server. If the website cannot send it, the form opens the enquiry in your own email application instead, and we receive it only when you send that email.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are located. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information including your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view. We see this as aggregated statistics and do not use it to identify you. We do not use advertising cookies.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and the website will still work. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability.
04Why we use it
- To answer enquiries and recommend suitable products
- To prepare quotes, and to supply, deliver and invoice orders
- To provide documents such as certificates of analysis and safety data sheets
- To manage our relationship with you, including credit and account administration
- To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
We may contact you about products relevant to your enquiry. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will.
05Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed to do the things described above, with:
- Our manufacturing partner, Dalian Huanqiu Minerals Co., Ltd., where a technical recommendation, a custom specification or a direct shipment requires it
- Freight, logistics and customs providers who deliver your order
- Service providers who support our business, such as email, accounting, IT and website analytics providers (including Google)
- Professional advisers, insurers and regulators where required
06Overseas disclosure
Our manufacturing partner is located in the People’s Republic of China, so information shared with it for the purposes above is disclosed overseas. Some of our service providers, including Google, may also store or process data outside Australia, for example in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we share only what the task requires.
07Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access is limited to people who need it for their work.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.
08Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Email privacy@plminerals.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days, and will tell you why if we cannot do what you ask.
09Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact our privacy contact first at privacy@plminerals.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
